I will not repeat what they have said; I simply will add to it:
\n
\n1. In addition to exploring a useful topic, you propose a unit that can be beneficial across grade levels.
\n2. You clearly articulate how students will develop empathy and critical thinking skills. I would like to more about the English\/language arts skills (i.e., understanding of theme, persuasive writing, etc.) you hope students will develop during this unit.
\n3. Dave addressed editing issues.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"35496026","dateCreated":"1299601630","smartDate":"Mar 8, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"sced357","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/sced357","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/abuck2.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/35496026"},"dateDigested":1532144981,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Angi reviewed by Dave Part II","description":"Suggestions:
\nMy only suggestion would be to possibly talk a little bit about how a clique is made up of individuals, but when they are all together the whole is larger, or more intimidating, or more immature, than the individuals who make up the clique. Maybe look into mob mentality, or group think. I'm just trying to get at the idea that cliques are made up of students, but that those students on their own may not behave the way they do when they're in a clique.
\nCorrections:
\nSomewhere in your rationale you used the word discluded. I'm not sure that that is a word. Also in the last paragraph, 3rd line from the bottom you have "be brought talked about".","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"35495526","dateCreated":"1299601190","smartDate":"Mar 8, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"sced357","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/sced357","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/abuck2.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/35495526"},"dateDigested":1532144982,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Angi reviewed by Dave","description":"Compliments:I think your unit covers a valuable and worthwhile topic. I really like how you say your unit will potentially help students see more clearly that they are in cliques and therefore may be more willing to go outside their comfort zone to interact with other students. I agree your unit will go a long way towards creating an atmosphere of tolerance and empathy.

Throughout your unit plan rationale, you made some great insights into the idea of social cliques and diversity among students. I like how sincere you were about the differences between different students and the equality that this could bring about in your classroom. It is also interesting to see that through your unit, you also plan to bring your class closer together by going through their social issues and not just brushing them off and ignoring them. Having social issues besides race will also help students to realize that although they may be different in some aspects of their lives, they are similar in others.
\n
\n2. Give your unit plan a name. Also maybe using some short stories to show the diversity in students having to do with something besides race.
